In the early part of our relationship my husband and I never had a lot of money. Now that we have more money, and are able to pay our bills on time and a little on the side, I am beginning to think about investing my money. This is not something that is easy for me. Because I have never had a lot of money, I have a hard time letting go of it. Though I realized that investing is meant to make more money, I`m always afraid that I`m going to lose my money. I think this is a pretty common fear, but I think I am more fearful than most.

When it comes to investing my money, the only person I trust his myself. I know that in order to retire comfortably I`m going to have to let go of this and trust someone else. It scares me to think of someone else investing my money. I know whoever we choose will have my best interests at heart because when I make money they will make money. This thought does not make it any easier for me to go with someone else though. Right now, we have some money invested in a 401(k). My husband doesn`t seem to be as uptight about as I am, but I realize that this is our future that I`m talking about here.

I know that one of the safest ways to go about investing my money is to leave my money in a savings account. Once the money in a savings account reaches a certain total I can put that money into a money market account for an even higher interest rate. As far as I`m concerned this is the best way to go about investing my money because I know these types of accounts are secured by the FDIC. This means that if something goes wrong and the bank loses that money, I will be able to get that money back up to a certain amount. I also know that this is not necessarily going to make me the most money. I`m going to have to find a happy medium.

I have been thinking more and more lately about investing my money. It is never been a concern in the past because I never thought we had enough. I have seen enough shows and gotten enough advice to realize that it doesn`t matter how much money you have you still have to put something away for your future. This is when investing my money became an important thought to me. I am slowly doing more and more research on the Internet to figure out what I want to do next.
