If you want to send money to someone, there are more and more ways you can do so. There are some ways that are better than others, and you do have to think about security when you send. You really have to think about who you are sending the money to, and what avenues are open to you. Your methods will depend on how well you know someone, and how quickly they need the money. You also have to be aware of the scams that are out there so that you can keep your money safe.

If you are sending money to a family member that is having an emergency, sending money over a wire though a company like Western Union might be one of the best things you can do. They will get them money very quickly, and you can usually find somewhere in almost any town to send and receive. However, if you are sending money for anything else, you should never use this service. If you send money for an eBay purchases, or to someone else for something online, they can take the money, and there is no way you can get it back. To be safe, use this type of service for friends and family only.

If you want to send money for a purchase on eBay, you should take advantage of Paypal. If you use a credit card though Paypal, you are doubly protected. If something goes wrong with the sale, or you think someone had scammed you, you have ways to get your money back. Though sending money this way is more secure, you will have to go through a process to get it back, but it is possible. Sending money through any type of service that offers buyer protection is always the best way to go.

Never send money to someone you don’t know. I can’t understand why people are doing this, but there are so many being duped by fake emails and other Internet scams. Someone sends out random emails to random addresses, and waits for someone to reply. They tell them they are going to get a lot of money, but they have to send money before they can get it. They may ask for checking account numbers, and then they will clean you out. Use common sense. There is no free money, and no one is going to send you millions because someone died that you never knew. Delete and move on, all you are going to get is taken.
